About this event

In “The Story that Gets You Noticed,” part of our Arts@Work series for creative entrepreneurs, Hannah Harvey will help you learn to tell the story of your business to your community and customers. This nationally-known storyteller and distinguished teacher will show you that it’s about more than advertising. It’s about getting to know your own narrative and communicating it in a way that draws others into community with you. Hannah will explain how oral storytelling is really based on imagery, and will demonstrate how to apply these image-based techniques to the different platforms where you communicate your story through the various media that help us “market” ourselves. (Think websites and social media, as well as in face-to-face meetings.) Learn how to listen to what your audience needs so that the story you tell about your business helps others connect with you and your mission.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from this dynamic and talented teacher/performer!

REVIEWS AND TESTIMONIALS
The Storytelling Festival of Carolina says, “Hannah is a wonderful wordsmith, an energetic and articulate teller, with a remarkable insight into the souls of her characters.” British Theatre Guide gives her “five stars.” A review from Blue Ridge Magazine says, “her stories, like a family tree, draw webbed lines from the present deep into the past…with humor and gravity in the telling, Harvey strives to give voice to a contemporary Appalachian identity richer and more complex than any of the stereotypes about the region she loves.”
