Large Format Giclee Printing for Photographers and Visual Artists

Instructor: Cher Cornett, Associate Professor of Digital Media at ETSU, Digital Artist and Photographer.

 

Non-Member Fee:  $400 per person including printing and supplies

Paid Member Fee: $300 per person including printing and supplies.

1:00 – 4:00 Sunday       Print Practice and Certification Test

 

Learn to prepare and print beautiful fine art quality giclee images. Cher will teach you the best-practice methods for printing on large format Epson Sure-color printers.  Each participant will take away at least 2 large archival quality prints of their own work.

 

This class is perfect for illustrators, photographers, and other artists desiring to print their own editions. Participants need a basic knowledge of Photoshop, including layers and masking. This class will also be good experience  for those who may wish to work in a commercial giclee print space.

 

Upon successful completion of this intensive hands-on class, participants will be certified as  Level-1 Giclee Print Technicians. This certification is required for all Create Appalachia members who want to print their own work in our print lab.

 

OTHER INFORMATION:

 

Saturday lunch is on your own. There are a number of restaurants close to the KCAAT. If you prefer to bring your own lunch, we have a microwave and a fridge that you can use. We will supply coffee and a light breakfast in the morning.

 

You may park behind our building in the lot between us and the Justice Center, or you may use the free parking garage on Shelby Street. Please use the Shelby Street entrance.

Instructor Bio:

Currently Associate Professor of Digital Media at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), Cher Cornett has worked professionally as a graphic designer, photographer, and illustrator since 1980.  She was a beta tester for the first version of Adobe Photoshop, and has taught digital photo editing for more than 25 years. She also creates and exhibits digitally-based fine art.

Cher is a Senior Fellow for the International Digital Media Arts Association, and a Judge for the American Advertising Federation ADDY Awards Competitions.
