New to digital art & design? Just getting back into it? Whether you’re new to the software or just need a refresher, this class is perfect for those interested in the basic interface, tools and common tasks in the programs.

Photoshop is an essential tool and industry standard for designers, web developers, photographers, and other creative professionals. It is used for image editing and retouching, graphic design, website mock-ups, digital imaging, illustration and more.

Don’t miss this chance to acquire a new skill! Join us for this hands-on class, taught in Create Appalachia’s computer lab by Alice Salyer of the William King Museum of Art. You’ll be able to ask questions and receive individual attention from Alice. Dip your toe (back) into the pool of Photoshop, learning about its basic tools and techniques. Students engage in tutorials, demonstrating simple approaches to the most common tools in the program.

Art Lab: WKMA’s Art Lab is a hub for learning where students, makers, educators, and the public can connect, exchange knowledge and ideas, and hone their skills. Equipped with painting, drawing, printmaking, and clay studios; a darkroom; and digital and 3D labs, it’s a space where critical thinking is engaged, curiosity is sparked, and creativity flourishes. It’s a place for examining the rich diversity of our world through the lenses of art, craft, and technology.

Digital Lab: Digital Lab, as part of William King Museum’s Art Lab, is a center for anyone in Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee to access, learn and use digital tools for art, design and life. We offer a variety of digital art and design workshops for all ages and experience levels, as well as open lab time for experienced individuals, print services, and more.
