Create Appalachia is proud to present Enigmatic Encounters: Hidden in Plain Sight, now hanging in our downtown Kingsport gallery.

This exhibition asks: What lies beneath the surface? Each participating artist takes a closer look at what is often overlooked in the everyday world. The works on display explore the unseen layers of experience, celebrate the mythical and the imagined, and reveal beauty, mystery, and truth hiding in plain sight. Through photography, painting, and digital media, ordinary details are transformed into extraordinary encounters.

Viewers are invited to pause, look closer, and enter the space “between the lines”—where fragility, wonder, and hidden stories dwell. The exhibit is not just about what we see, but about how we perceive—with empathy, imagination, and curiosity.
