Create Appalachia Opens Art Call for 4th Annual Digital Exhibit, Digital Salon: A Disturbance in the Force
KINGSPORT, TN: Create Appalachia invites digital artists who are from Appalachia, work in Appalachia, or make work on Appalachian themes and subjects to submit work for our 4th annual juried Digital Salon exhibit. This year’s theme is “A Disturbance in the Force.” This flagship show is intended to honor the artistry and imagination of those who work in digital media. Work from both emerging and established artists is welcome.
Create Appalachia’s founder, Cher Cornett, says,“If you’re an artist using digital methods to create art, you are working in an exciting new era. Digital Salon: A Disturbance in the Force is an opportunity for you to showcase your talent and imagination by sharing the work you create with a little technology in your toolbox! This is our biggest show of the year and it always offers a variety of unique and exciting works. Audiences love it. I hope our region’s digital artists will take the opportunity to submit their work.”
The deadline for submissions is May 12, 2025. The entry fee is $20 for up to 3 works, and a limited number of scholarships are available. All works must have digital elements and must either be by an artist from the region, or working here. Pieces featuring Appalachian themes or subjects are also eligible. Works may be created in any digital media, including but not limited to film, video, animation, game art, digital illustration, graphic design, photography, 3D prints, and wearable art.
